La Rétrospective: Jeff Koons


The exhibition looks back on the 35 years career of Jeff Koons. Centre Pompidou has provided visitors with a clear display on the evolution of one of the most controversial living contemporary American artist, still working today. He is best known for his reproduction of balloon animals into metallic and glossy stainless steel with fluorescent colors.



















There are also series of slick sheets of metal and plastic glowing baloon hung on one of the walls, visitors were invited to see themselves in the mirror, this is to gain interactivity. Koons has also exploited the classical aesthetic of Greek-styled statues and poses the with blue metallic balls. He has been utilizing the concept of balloons for many of his works, demonstrating how the transiency is not just as an object but also emotions derived from a balloon’s pleasure.
